Replacing a Cylinder Head on a Land Rover 300 tdi
At the beginning of December 2007 I drove from the south-west of England to Poland in my Land Rover Discovery. On route my 300 tdi Land Rover Discovery broke down on the motorway around 6 kms east of the ferry port in Dunkerque, France. Unfortunately the problem was a major one - a blown head gasket and severely damaged cylinder head.
Fortunately, Wouter Tyberghien, a Belgium Land Rover enthusiast, came to the rescue; trailering me off the motorway; supplying the necessary spare parts; and working until the early hours of the morning to replace the Discovery's cylinder head. Here are some photographs taken of my French / Belgium adventure!
